What It Takes To Be A Family Day Care Educator

To work as a family day care educator you must be a qualified, caring, and patient individual. Working from your own home, you will provide daycare home services for small groups of children, not exceeding four.

All our family day care educators must have completed a relevant child care qualification, from Certificate III and up. You’ll also hold a current Victorian Working With Children and police check, as will all adults living in your household. Ideally, you will also be trained in administering medical treatment, including first aid, and asthma and anaphylaxis management.

On top of those formal qualifications, we are looking to work with applicants who have a fantastic soft skill set. Children need to feel safe and supported, so we are looking for nurturing, patient individuals. You must be able to calmly and capably deal with any unexpected situation that may arise.
